The Panzerwrecks crew has made a name for themselves by showing what German vehicles looked like by the end of the Second World War. With this publication, however, they switch gears and take us back to the war's beginning. Fotos from the Panzertruppen follows the same basic formula as the Panzerwrecks volumes, with full-page photos and informative, no-nonsense captions. Photos of Panzer Marks I through IV and the 38(t) from the early war period comprise the majority of this book. There are sections on each early Panzer model, as well as several on their variants. Some of these variants are particularly interesting, especially the Schulfahrzeug (driver training) Panzer I, the Befehlswagen (command) Panzer I and the Vorpanzer (up-armored) Panzer IV that appears on the cover. A variety of photographs illustrating both the Reichswehr three-color and the early war brown over gray schemes are also provided. Anyone looking for ideas for early war armor will definitely get fired up paging through this title. Reproduced by kind permission of Military Miniatures in Review |
