Scale Military Modeller International Magazine January 2011 |
The latest in this invaluable reference resource follows the established format with the exception of a new gatefold cover design, which allows for a couple of super-sized images at the front and rear - and the widescreen view of the dump at Saint-Lambert sur Dives makes ample use of this facility. The book is packed with close up shots of late war armour in Normandy, and includes some useful shots of a 4.7cm Pak(t) auf PzKpfw.35R(f) ohne Turm - and if you think that's a mouthful then it is, but you won't find nearly as many pictures of it as you'd like. It's another of those weird hybrids of captured equipment that will never be fully documented, but that makes modelling Wehrmacht armour so fascinating once you get the Tigers and Panthers out of your system. Other chapters include a nice selection of shots of a Bergepanther, and some very useful material on wrecked Pumas, a type characteristic of this theatre, and one nicely served by the Dragon kit. Another essential book from the Panzerwrecks team and highly recommended. Reproduced by kind permission of Scale Military Modeller International Magazine (opens in a new window) |
