| Panzerwrecks returns to their usual niche with this fun-filled volume of derelict armor. This newest edition of the series features four main photo essays and also includes smaller pieces on miscellaneous subjects. The first photo essay features Panzerjager and Flakpanzers in a vehicle dump at Meppen. This section includes some very nice shots of intact and nearly intact Jagdpanthers and Flakpanzer halftracks as well as some other Jagdpanzers. The next photo essay has some great shots of wrecked Sd.Kfz. 251s in Czechoslovakia, including the rare 251/22 Pakwagen. The third major feature is an excellent photo essay on a captured Flammpanzer 38( t) based on photographs taken during an examination by U.S. troops. The fmal, and perhaps most interesting, feature is a thorough documentation of U.S. troops cannibalizing a SdKfz 251 to use as a test bed for the Calliope rocket launcher. There are also the ubiquitous StuGs, Tigers, Panthers and even some shots of the Karl-Gerat 60cm mortar sprinkled among the main articles that provide plenty of food for thought for any armor modeler. Overall, this very fme effort by the Panzerwrecks crew is worthy of its predecessors. Reproduced by kind permission of Military Miniatures in Review |
