| It's time to ogle some German derelict vehicles again. In the last three editions, the Panzerwrecks crew has focused on particular theaters of the war. Panzerwrecks X is more of a mixed bag, but still really delightful. There is a short follow-up to some of the photo essays from Panzerwrecks 2 with images from Berlin, Vienna, and Yugoslavia. Along with your standard mix of Panzer fun, there are also some real oddball vehicles thrown in. Two of the photo essays in particular, "Panzers at Pilsen Airfield" and "Freaks and Antiques," take a look at some pretty unusual German armor. Some standouts from these two sections include a Panzer IV with an 88 mounted on it Gust like Mike Rinaldi's from issue 45) and training tanks with wooden dummy superstructures. However, the really neat-o feature in this edition has to be a trip to the MNH Factory. This is an extensive essay of the bombed out assembly line taken when the Brits overran it in 1945. There's a bunch of great final model Panther and Jagdpanther reference here. As always, the authors do a fine job with the captions, providing a background story for the photos and picking out the details. This is yet another Panzerwrecks edition you'll want to add to your collection. Thanks to Bill Auerbach for the review copy. Reproduced by kind permission of Military Miniatures in Review |
