Panzerwrecks 21 P72-73 unit ID update

Never one to put his feet up, Darren ‘Forgotten Archives’ Neely has more information and photos of the Pz.Kpfw.IVs shown on pages 72 and 73 of Panzerwrecks 21. Over to Darren:

Two Panzer IVs originally identified as 116th KG Bayer from November 1944 are actually from the 2nd company I. /Panzer Regiment 33 of the 9th Panzer Division. Sgt Nicholas Mashlonik, E co 2nd Bn/33rd Armored Regiment, 3rd AD who famously knocked out the Tiger 211 that disabled the Pershing named “Fireball” of F-33rd/3rd AD in Elsdorf on Feb 26th, 1945 also knocked out these two Panzer IVs along the railroad tracks just a few hundred yards of the Tiger 1. Sgt Mashlonik (r) and the civilian technical advisor for the Pershing tank, L.R. Slim Price (L) are in front of the tank in one photo. This all makes sense for the photos originally shown in PW 21 because they came from a maintenance officer with the 2nd/33rd/3rd AD, the same unit as Sgt. Mashlonik. TF Lovelady to be exact.

Don’t know what this is all about? Not got Panzerwrecks 21? We only have copies with minor damage left
