Il Fosso Buttaceto book by Lorenzo Bovi & Rita Di Trio. Minor damage
The Fosso Buttaceto, defended by German paratroopers, blocked the British advance in Catania. Lorenzo Bovi and Rita Di Trio tell the story of this largely unknown area of the conflict. The part concerning the Italians is interesting, with the report of the 213rd Coastal Division and the testimonies of Italian soldiers who fought in the area. Then there is a nice article on the German Gotha gliders that arrived in Catania and on the presence of Marder II tank destroyers. Lots of unpublished photographs, as usual in this series.
Please note, this book has Italian text
